On Sunday at UFC 287 in Miami, Israel Adesanya secured his UFC middleweight championship title in a second-round knockout against Alex Pereira.

Adesanya was able to avenge his loss to Pereira from last November, where he had been leading on the scorecards before losing by fifth-round TKO.
Before the fight, Adesanya, who sported a metal collar around his neck, had vowed to do his best to defeat Pereira.
The Miami crowd seemed to be supporting Adesanya, while Pereira received some boos during his entrance.
The first round of the fight was cautious, with neither fighter wanting to make any mistakes. Adesanya eventually became the aggressor, and despite being rocked by a big right hand from Pereira, he fired back with some high kicks and a right of his own.
The fight was then over with a devastating punch from Adesanya, which knocked Pereira out cold. With this victory, Adesanya’s MMA record improved to 24 wins and two losses.
