The State House Management has begun renovating and refurbishing sections of the Presidential Villa, Abuja ahead of the swearing-in of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29.
PUNCH reported that workers overlaid new white and green paints on the concrete perimeter fence encompassing the President’s office, official residence, the Council Chamber, press gallery, as well as other administrative offices on Friday.
On Thursday, the delivery crew delivered new furniture to the green room adjoining the Council Chamber. The maintenance team had carried out routine upgrades of card readers and installed barricades months earlier.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, headed the Presidential Transition Council, which carried out the maintenance works, as revealed by a senior State House official.
The State House has earmarked N3.05bn for “maintenance services” since 2016.
On Friday, Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, revealed on his Twitter page that they were painting to welcome the incoming President.
