The Flying Eagles completed their preparations for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations with a convincing 6-1 victory over Moroccan club Kawkab Athletic at the Complexe Sportif, Sidi Mohammed, Ain Sebaa, Casablanca.

Kawkab Athletic was a last-minute replacement for the Central African Republic, who had pulled out of a friendly with the Flying Eagles scheduled for Tuesday night.
The Nigerian team got off to a flying start, with Mohammed Aminu scoring the opening goal in the first minute. Ibrahim Mohammed doubled the lead in the 17th minute, followed by midfielder Samson Lawal 10 minutes later.
Kawkab Athletic reduced the deficit nine minutes before the break, but it was short-lived as the Flying Eagles went on to score three more goals through Emmanuel Uchegbu, Augustine Njoku, and Jonathan Nicholas.
The seven-time African champions are set to depart for Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday, where they will play Senegal in their opening fixture on Sunday.
