Two AK-47 firearms were recovered from a suspected kidnapper in Bode-Saadu, Moro Local Government Area, by Kwara State police.

Seven empty magazines, 50 rounds of live AK-47 ammo, three Tecno phones, 11 phone batteries, charms, clothing, and N255,000 were also seized.

Ajayi Okasanmi, the command’s spokesperson, claimed that the suspect escaped on a bike.

He said: “A detachment of policemen detailed to monitor the axis sighted and flagged down a Bajaj motorcycle operator for a routine check.

“Surprisingly, the rider of the motorcycle jumped down from the motorcycle and ran into the bush.

“The fleeing suspect is strongly believed to be one of the kidnappers operating around the border towns of Ekiti, Kogi, and Kwara states.

“The command has promised to exert the necessary pressure to see that the fleeing suspects and his gang members are arrested.”

Okasanmi urged the public to always give police information and report all strange activities around them.
