According to the Times’ chief football correspondent, Henry Winter, Manchester United is poised to be bought by a nation-state.
The Glazer family, who currently own the Premier League giants, are seeking to sell for £6 billion.
Qatar has already shown interest in buying the club, but Winter thinks it will be hard for a single buyer like Sir Jim Ratcliffe to come up with the money needed to buy the Red Devils.
“I think it’ll go to another nation state.
“Jim Ratcliffe will probably have to raise more money. I can’t see him doing it alone,” he said.
