Gift Orban, the Nigerian forward who moved to Gent in January, has scored three goals in four league appearances, making a name for himself in the Belgian Pro League.
His recent goal against Anderlecht was the only goal of the game, securing a 1-0 win for Gent with an impressive strike from the edge of the box.
Since joining Gent on the deadline day of the winter transfer window, Orban has proven to be a valuable asset to the team, scoring brilliant goals and improving his reputation in every game he plays.
His goal against Anderlecht was his third in the Belgian Pro League and his fourth in all competitions for Gent.
Orban’s debut for Gent was also impressive, as he scored twice against KSV Westerlo in the league, and he scored a crucial winning goal against Qarabag in the UEFA Conference League round of 16 playoffs.
The 20-year-old Nigerian forward is enjoying his start to life in Belgium, and his impressive form could earn him a spot in the Super Eagles’ forward choices, causing a headache for coach Jose Peseiro.
Despite his excellent performance and growing reputation, Orban has not been called up to the Super Eagles or any of Nigeria’s other national teams across age categories.
