Regina Daniels Urges Producers to Stop Employing Minors in Nollywood

Regina Daniels, a Nigerian actress, has sparked reactions from her colleagues by calling on celebrities and movie producers to end child labor in the entertainment industry.

In a video posted on Instagram on Monday, the 22-year-old actress stated that the Nollywood industry is not a safe place for young girls to work.

Regina shared an experience of meeting a 14-year-old girl on set who worked as a makeup artist without being paid, and how she was able to enroll her in one of the best schools in Delta.

The mother of two urged movie producers and directors to stop employing minors in the movie industry. Several popular Nigerian celebrities, such as Don Jazzy, Rita Edochie, Anita Joseph, Uche Elendu, Joyce Kalu, and others, commended Regina for speaking up and helping the young girl.

Rita Edochie wrote;

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING HER. I FIGHT LIKE THIS IN ANY SET I SEE ANY OF THEM AND THEY KNOW. AT TIMES THE PERSON HIDES FOR ME NOT TO SEE HER AND SAY ANYTHING BUT MOST OF THE TIME, ALL SHE HAS IN HER HEAD IS WHAT SHE WANTS TO DO.

THAT THING IN HER MIND IS ALL SHE WOULD WANT TO DO. SOME OF THEM THOUGH NOT ALL BECAUSE I KNOW SOMEI PULLED OUT.”

Don Jazzy wrote; “Thank you”

Onyinye Okafor wrote;
