David Adeleke, the Nigerian Afrobeat sensation popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his relationship with fellow artist Burna Boy is tenuous.
Post Nigeria gathered that, Davido in his statement revealed he had no issue with Burna Boy but they “don’t talk” to each other.
This disclosure was made by Davido during his appearance on the Ebro in the Morning Show on Hot 97FM, New York, USA, where he discussed the importance of solidarity within the Afrobeats community.
Speaking on unity among Afrobeats artists, the Omo Baba Olowo crooner said, “Afrobeats [artists] we are in unity. I spoke to Burna [Boy]. He called me. He calls me as well but we’ve not really spoken like that.
Asked whether he plans to resolve his issues with Burna Boy, Davido said, “I think I definitely would. He [Burna Boy] called me. Wiz [Kid] called me. And funny enough, me and Burna used to be mad close. Very very close.”
Recall that the relationship between Davido and Burna Boy went sour in 2020, which resulted in a series of disagreements between the two.
The duo reportedly clashed and exchanged blows in a Ghanaian club.
Speaking of the incident, Davido said, “Funny enough, it wasn’t even us. It was our people [team]. It was crazy because it didn’t even involve us.”
