Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has revealed his favourite song to be ‘Who’s Your Guy’ by Nigerian artist Spyro, known for his Afrobeats and Afrofusion music.
This disclosure has been met with enthusiasm and support from Spyro’s fans on social media.
However, some individuals remain apathetic towards the Governor’s musical preference due to their dissatisfaction with the election results, which saw Sanwo-Olu re-elected as governor of Lagos State.
The recently concluded gubernatorial election held on March 18, 2023, saw Sanwo-Olu receive a total of 762,134 votes, beating out Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) and Abdul-Azeez Adediran aka Jandor of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who received 312,329 and 62,449 votes respectively.
In a recent video uploaded by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State on New Media, Jubril Gawat, on Twitter, Sanwo-Olu was asked about his favourite song while sitting in his office.
He responded by stating that his current favourite song is ‘Who’s Your Guy’ by Spyro, saying, “Right now is, ‘Who’s Your Guy’ by Spyro. Oh yes, I’m following up with my people. I love the song, yes!”
Spyro, whose real name is Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, is an emerging talent in the Nigerian music industry. He gained widespread recognition with his song ‘Funke’ in 2018, which became a viral sensation on social media.
Since then, Spyro has continued to release a string of successful singles and collaborations, including working with notable Nigerian artists such as Davido and Mayorkun.
